Today I was digging through some old emails I had saved and came across some site mock-ups that Adam Smith from Advent Creative designed for me last February. I remember going back and forth over the color of the boxes lining the right side of each page when we were wrapping up the website design. I initially liked the brown (below) because I thought it really popped and was interesting to the eye. I thought the lime green was a bit bright and harsh on the eyes. However, I decided to go with the electric green because the VAST majority of people said they thought it fit better with my branding. We even conducted surveys and found that close to 90% of people prefered the green. Now, ten months later, I’m having second thoughts again. What do you think? I’d really appreciate your feedback and input on this. Let me know in the comments. Thanks!
NOTE: the tagline has since changed - just disregard that.

In my humble opinion, I think brown is the way to go. I think it provides greater contrast which makes the entire page more interesting and less “in your face”. And the gradient puts it over the top. In the end, it’s YOUR page and although I always encourage our clients to listen to customer insights, I’m also a big believer in going with your gut. I think your gut knows what to do. Good luck.
Thank you for that, Tony. I usually always go with my gut, and this is one time that I didn’t. Nonetheless, I think you are right about the contrast and gradient.
Mr. Raser,
If you want a web 2.0 style.. I recommend you to stay with solid colors. No gradients
The brown option is using a green stroke.. I would use white instead, so you can match the style you are using on your images.
My only comment about the green you are using now, is that makes the white text is not 100% legible or convenient.
Did you try using the darker green from your color palette?

Mix it up!
Brown Gradient: c39a6a to 7a552b
Darker Green: 99ba22 (I would have the designer silo the Limo Logo against the green, not use it in “darken mode” which it is now on yer site….. it needs to pop!)
I like this much better:

John,
I am no expert on branding, but I do prefer the bright green to the brown. Much more attention grabbing, exciting and alive!!!
(Besides, brown reminds peeps of poo!)
