Today I had the amazing opportunity to meet Rock and Roll Legend, Joan Jett, in Tampa with my dear friend, Rowdy Gaines, and new friends, Scot Weiss and Dainon Moody. Rowdy and Joan have been friends since they first met at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. That year, Rowdy became an American hero by winning 3 Gold Medals in swimming. Joan was there to entertain the athletes at the conclusion of the games. After getting to spend time chatting backstage with Joan and her crew, they insisted we watch the show from the side of the stage. I obviously had no problem with this. It was an absolute joy to watch a true punk rock icon perform only a few feet away from me. Joan and her entire crew could not have been nicer or more hospitable. The kind words Joan shared about Rowdy from the stage are just a small taste of what a sweet and genuine person she really is. Enjoy!
