In Honor of Tiger Woods’ Return to Action…
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009If you a) are a casual sports fan and b) have a heartbeat, then you know that Tiger Woods has been out of action for eight months after having reconstructive knee surgery following his dramatic play-off win at last summer’s U.S. Open. (More on the details of Tiger’s injury) I can definitely relate to the frustration Tiger has felt for all these months as well as the excitement I know he is now feeling as he prepares to tee it up at the Accenture Match Play Championship today. I am happy to see him back!

When I was a Junior at The University of Alabama I learned a hard lesson by tearing up my knee while horsing around playing soccer on the rec fields with a bunch of other athletes that lived in our dorms. I had to have reconstructive surgery after suffering a torn ACL, torn meniscus, separated shin bone, compression fracture, and deep bone bruising. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to overcome as I was out and unable to play for over a year. So, I feel you’re pain, Tiger… Welcome back!
I’ve dug up some of my personal “Tiger favorites” to share in honor of his return to action.
This is the video from “Tiger Trap” which was filmed at my home course, The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes. I absolutely love the ladies at the end
I love this commercial below. Awesome editing. I am proud to say that I, along with a couple other guys, lead the charge of people who jumped over the Swilcan Burn after Tiger and David Duval hit their tee shots on the 18th hole of the final round of the 2000 British Open at The Old Course at St. Andrews. This victory rounded out Tiger’s hirtoric grand slam, owning all four major championship titles at the same time. It was truly inspiring to watch history unfold in person!
